Why do we have life if it brings suffering and pain.?

Ok so i just recently watched the Nick Berg Deheading (horrible and sad) and i regret watching it. Anyways from that video i asked myself why do we have life, why is it here, Nick berg must have been in horrible pain and i wish i dont end up like him. If everything dies why are we here and most of all why do we have to suffer like poor Nick.Thnx for any answers.
